November is the month when Made in France is traditionally honored. The MIF Expo fair will be held from November 8 to 11, 2019 in Paris. I would like to take this opportunity to come back to a partnership that was close to my heart: that with the Tuffery brand. 100% Cévenol partnership.

I met the manager of this French jeans brand, Julien Tuffery, 4 years ago. Getting in touch was easy, because we are both attached to our native Cévennes, in the sense of quality in our work, and the importance of anchoring in a territory. The Tuffery workshop is a family business that has been manufacturing the oldest French jeans since 1892, in Lozère.

We discussed our businesses, our creations and the ethical values we wanted to convey through our designs. The idea quickly sprouted to make a custom lamp by bringing together our 2 universes and know-how:

  • Fashion made in Lozère,
  • The design of a lamp via upcycling.

For this, I therefore selected a duo of Calor radiators from the 70s.

Once disassembled and cleaned, these radiators transformed into designer lamps were dressed in a denim fabric supplied by the Tuffery workshop. Canvas with pocket and logo embroidered with leather clearly reminiscent of their famous pants.

The result of this great collaboration was exhibited in Paris, on the Tuffery stand at a MIF 2017 trade fair. It is now visible in their workshop, located in Florac.

This is a very nice collaboration Made in France because Tuffery and ArtJL are two brands which ardently defend French, local know-how, the importance of craftsmanship, and the design of objects that make sense.
